of Police Jeffrey E. Turner welcomes you to the Clayton County Police
Online. Clayton County Georgia is one of the original five counties to
comprise the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and is located just south of the
Atlanta City Limits. At just 143 square miles, Clayton County is the third
smallest county in the state of Georgia, however as home to Hartsfield
- Jackson International Airport and with a population of over 260,000
residents, Clayton County is also the fifth most densely populated county
in the state.
The Clayton County Police Department is managed under the direction of
the Chief of Police who is appointed by the five elected members of the
Clayton County Board of Commissioners. With an authorized strength of
356 sworn personnel and an annual operating budget of $19 million dollars,
the Clayton County Police Department is the primary responder for all
calls for police services within the unincorporated areas of Clayton County
as well as within the City of Lovejoy.
With over 75 years of service as a county police force, we are proud of
our reputation as a progressive police department and demand the best

the Crime Stoppers Atlanta Program. Crime Stoppers Atlanta is a non-profit
organization established by the Atlanta Police Foundation dedicated to
the reduction of crime, to the prompt solution of crimes, and to rewarding
persons who provide information that leads to the arrest of criminals.
